If so, you might be the CAD expert we’re looking for at JWC Machine and Fab in Mobile, AL. We’re a precision CNC shop serving industrial customers with tight-tolerance parts—from production runs to large-format and specialized work. We’re intentional about growth, and each addition to our team matters.

What You’ll Tackle Produce and update 2D drawings and/or 3D models from customer specifications, sketches, or verbal direction

Embed proper GD&T, tolerances, materials, and surface finishes to drive first-pass success

Evaluate incoming prints for manufacturability and call out risks before chips fly Administer organized drawing libraries and revision control aligned to shop standards

Work closely with machinists and shop leadership to answer interpretation questions

Support quoting by interpreting drawings and breaking down critical dimensions

Draft process documentation, work instructions, and job travelers when required

What You Bring Proficiency in Solid Works, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or comparable CAD platforms

Deep familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and reading complex engineering drawings

Background creating drawings for machined parts; castings and weldments experience is a bonus

Real-world understanding of machining and manufacturing processes

Associate’s or Bachelor’s in MET, Drafting, or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience welcomed

Organized, meticulous, and capable of juggling multiple drawing packages

Strong communicator who can interface directly with customers and the shop floor
