The Role
ACCEL teachers hold primary responsibility for the development of curriculum, the delivery of content, and the growth and success of their students. Each teacher teaches approximately four 75-minute periods per day with an average class size of approximately 25 students.

ACCEL teachers hold primary responsibility for the development of curriculum, the delivery of content, and the growth and success of their students. Each teacher teaches approximately four 75-minute periods per day with an average class size of approximately 25 students.
Teachers' hours are 3:00AM - 3:30PM daily, with the student academic day running from 8:00AM to 3:00PM on Mondays through Thursday and 8:00AM to 12:30PM on Friday. There will also be an option to teach during the evening program for additional compensation. Teachers will be allowed work up to 10 hours per week in the evening program.
Specific Responsibilities
- Teach four 75- minute class periods of students.
- Provide small group and one-on-one targeted intervention and support to students during station rotation within the class periods.
- Participate in regular interim data meetings with team teachers and principal.
- Engage in 4 administrative observations and growth plan meetings per year.
- Actively participate in 2 hours per week of targeted professional development.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Set and maintain consistent and high academic and behavioral expectations.
- Keep an accurate record of student performance.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of students' records.
- Engage in weekly coaching meetings
- Bachelor's degree
- Two or more years of teaching experience as a classroom teacher (preferred, not required)
- Alabama State Educator Certification (preferred, not required)
- Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students

- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organization skills
