Group Fitness Instructor (several part-time positions)
St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting résumés for several part-time contingent positions as Group Fitness Instructors. Responsibilities include teaching land or water‑based group exercise classes in a safe and effective manner for all skill levels. Instructors will also assist with special events and workshops related to the group exercise area. These part‑time positions are contingent upon program development and interest with no benefits provided.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated group exercise knowledge, experience, and effectiveness. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required from the American Red Cross or equivalent organization. Current instructor certification from ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NDEITA or other nationally recognized group exercise certification preferred. Ability to lift at least thirty (30) pounds. Group Fitness Instructors are responsible for their own class itineraries and for providing a safe and healthy workout environment.
Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. The hourly pay rate is $30, depending on qualifications and experience.
