Position SummaryThe Senior Manufacturing Engineer will develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to maintain company standards at our Mobile, Alabama plant. This position does not have supervisory duties.
Responsibilities- Create detailed manufacturing work instructions.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space, and process flow.
- Design equipment and workspace layouts for efficiency.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Planning, and Design teams on product design and tooling.
- Specify equipment, materials, tooling, and gaging requirements.
- Evaluate products against design data and quality standards.
- Collaborate with management and engineering on manufacturing capabilities and schedules.
- Work with maintenance staff to troubleshoot equipment.
- Train shop floor team members.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities, emphasizing Lean Manufacturing.
- Develop or modify CNC programs for ongoing production.
- Use statistical methods to evaluate processes.
- Coordinate with vendors on product specifications and procurement.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 4-10 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visual Fox Pro, ERP systems, CAD/CAM software.
- Strong background in metal cutting, programming, grinding, honing, and G-code programming.
- Knowledge of shop floor gaging methods, PPAP, GD&T, engine assembly, and SPC principles.
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs, work in safety-sensitive areas, stand all day, squat, kneel, and climb.
