Job OverviewThis position focuses on ensuring the supportability and maintainability of shipboard equipment throughout its lifecycle, supporting planning, cost analysis, and vendor coordination for maintenance and supply support.
Responsibilities- Responsible for schedules and project coordination.
- Provide technical input to Obsolescence Management efforts.
- Lead maintenance analysis for all shipboard installed equipment, covering organizational to depot levels and all maintenance types, including preventive, corrective, and preventive maintenance analysis.
- Perform Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC) estimates, maintenance planning, logistics and supportability analyses, equipment configuration management, and supply support.
- Conduct front‑end and detailed supportability analyses and cost trade‑off studies to optimize system cost from concept through disposal phases.
- Make independent decisions on spare or replacement parts and supply support problems.
- Prepare preliminary preventive maintenance documentation, including Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) and Maintenance Index Pages (MIP) per Navy specifications.
- Develop in‑yard Preservation & Preventive Maintenance (P&PM) procedures to protect equipment from receipt until ship delivery.
- Interface with OEMs/Suppliers to obtain vendor‑furnished information.
- Ensure all change‑order activities that impact maintenance are processed, documented, and communicated to the ILS team.
- Willing to cross‑train to other ILS areas as needed.
- General
- 4‑year engineering degree (mechanical, industrial, electrical) or equivalent BS degree plus experience in Maintenance and Supportability Engineering.
- 5+ years of Supportability/Logistics/Systems Engineering analysis on Government contracts.
- Experience reading and working with OEM vendor‑furnished information, drawings, and parts lists.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office.
- Experience interfacing with internal/external customers, including equipment manufacturers and supply chain personnel.
- Preferred:
Life Cycle Cost estimating experience, RMA modeling and analysis experience, RCM Level II certification, and prior U.S. Navy, MSC, or USCG experience. - U.S. Citizenship required.

- Must provide proof of U.S. person status.
