Mechanical Engineer – Tyndall AFB
Location:
Panama City, FL
$/yr – $/yr
Responsibilities- Provide engineering services on several simultaneous federal projects with construction values ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dollars.
- Preferred experience with large Federal Building Design, Medical Building Design, or Construction Projects; large projects defined as a construction value of at least $100 million.
- Conduct site observation and report on multiple assigned projects to government personnel.
- Provide technical and administrative support.
- Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Analyze design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements.
- Deliver recommendations to government personnel regarding compliance with contract provisions.
- Review and interpret plans, specifications, submittals, reports, schedules, modifications, cost estimates, pay applications, change orders, and claims.
- Provide field surveillance and prepare daily detailed reports covering all pertinent factors affecting cost and engineering considerations.
- Participate in pre‑construction conferences with government personnel.
- Knowledge and experience in HVAC systems, system controls, building automation, chilled water, plumbing, humidification, data centers, and other complex mechanical‑engineering elements in large buildings and utility plants.
- U.S. Citizenship; successful federal background review and drug screen.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college (preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering, construction, and contract administration experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
- Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or other federal project experience preferred.
- Experience using RMS 3.0 preferred.
- Proficient English language skills, both oral and written.
- Professional presentation, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail when interacting with clients and contractors.
