Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Sr. I.T. Network Engineer to maintain and enhance data networks (WAN, LAN, Industrial & Wireless, Network Security & Cabling) for Airbus in Mobile.
Meet the TeamAs part of Airbus Commercial Aircraft, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to secure and support the company’s global network infrastructure.
Working EnvironmentThe Engineering Center in Mobile houses Airbus engineers who design aircraft cabins and support the production of A320 and A220 families.

- Manage incidents, problems, and requests requiring L3 support.
- Proactively propose improvements to increase network infrastructure performance.
- Provide technical consulting to internal customers in North America and interface with European teams.
- Serve as primary technical focal point for LAN, Network Security, and Aruba wireless.
- Support external partners and operations, plan projects, and contribute to data strategy.
- Assist technical suppliers as an L3 engineer for incident resolution.
- Develop and execute test plans, report findings, and recommend improvements.
- Architect, originate, and document IT architecture, standards, and capacity plans.
- Research emerging network technologies and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
- Design, develop, and oversee end‑to‑end IT integrated systems.
Education (Required): Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or equivalent experience.
Experience (Required): 5+ years of networking experience in an industrial environment.
Preferred Experience: Routing (BGP/OSPF), MPLS, VXLAN, VLAN, STP, edge network security, Dot1x/NAC, F5 Load Balancer, proxy technologies, optical & copper cabling, scripting.
Licensure/
Certifications:
Required: Cisco CCIE or equivalent;
Preferred: Arista, Aruba, Palo Alto, F5, ITIL Foundation, Agile Framework.
10% domestic and international travel.
CitizenshipAuthorized to work in the US.
ClearanceAny security clearance welcomed.

Expertise in LAN, WAN, WiFi, and network security products (proxies, firewalls, IDS, IPS).
Job DimensionsReports to the Leader of Network Operations North America. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining local area networks and security, installing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing network hardware, software, and links. Provides end‑user training as required.
Nature of Contacts- Weekly reporting, influencing, and supporting the management team.
- Daily coordination with contractors and vendors.
- 80% onsite in Mobile, AL.
- Vision, hearing, speaking, equipment operation, carrying, lifting up to 30–50 lbs, traveling.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, push/pull.
- Personal protective equipment required on shop floor.
