Job Overview

As a member of the management team, you will manage, lead, develop and engage a production team to meet time, quality, cost and safety requirements, respecting the country’s legal context. Responsibilities / Challenges
  • Manage and lead the Ground Test Team (Ground Test Team + Test Tool Shop Team).
  • Assess personnel placement based on needs and employee qualification (present and future).
  • Ensure strict compliance with Industrial Safety Regulations; guide employees to individual responsibility and self‑control.
  • Optimize the Ground Test flow, implementing new innovations.
  • Integrate American and European Teams.
  • Responsible for production activities of the Ground Test team.
  • Forecast manpower requirements based on workload and skill set to meet the delivery schedule.
  • Identify and eliminate problems quickly and early; anticipate where possible.
  • Monitor and insure permanent operability of all Ground Test equipment, tools and accessories; drive the process within Integrated Teams to eliminate disturbances.
  • Plan and control work progress.
  • Ensure execution of specified work packages in compliance with costs, quality specifications and OSHA requirements.
  • Support procurement of consumable materials, tools and other equipment.
  • Insure orders and material availability to guarantee work progress.
  • Participate in achieving annual objectives (e.g. CI, Quality Gates and KPIs).
    Ensure close contact with the Ground Test Engineering department in Hamburg, Germany.
  • Responsible for A/C documentation for hand‑over to next station and FOT (PIR‑book, folio, NC, intervention cards, removal‑sheet‑book, etc.).
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or an equivalent field, or an equivalent combination of academic and/or vocational education and direct operational experience.
  • Knowledge of Quality / Logistics rules in Aviation.
  • Excellent communication skills at different levels, structured working style and ability to handle complex information.
  • Significant experience in project management and international team management.
Preferences
  • 10 years of experience in Aviation (Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly Processes, methods, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience in Aviation Production Areas (mechanics / structure / electrics).
Physical Requirements
  • Vision: adequate to read material on computer screens; identify individuals for greetings and give directions.
  • Hearing: sufficient to engage in conversation in office settings; hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to communicate in person and via electronic means to groups of varying size.
  • Equipment Operation: operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms.
  • Carrying: occasionally carry up to 20 lbs (9 kg) (e.g., training, addressing production issues).
  • Lifting: occasionally lift up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
  • Pushing/Pulling: push/pull items in office and shop‑floor areas.
  • Sitting: sit for extended periods at a computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve items stored on lower shelves.
  • Standing: stand for extended periods delivering information.
