DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer with years of progressive experience in transportation and roadway design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Open Roads Designer and a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects. This role involves leading design efforts, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage roadway design projects from concept through final design and construction documentation.
• Utilize Open Roads  Designer for geometric design, corridor modeling, and plan production.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, and design drawings.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and internal teams to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
• Conduct quality control reviews and ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., AASHTO, DOT).
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Support proposal development and contribute to project scoping and budgeting.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 6+ yearsof experience in civil engineering with a focus on transportation and roadway design.
• Proficiency inOpenRoads Designeris required.
• Strong understanding of roadway design standards and practices.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Experience with Micro Station, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other design software is a plus.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $82,000- $128,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
