At Regions, the Credit Officer II is accountable for the credit quality (past dues, NPA, Criticized assets, Net Losses, Exceptions, etc.), profitability and growth of the total business loan portfolio in the assigned Credit Officer’s applicable business reporting unit or segment. The Credit Officer II ensures and is responsible for the execution of sound risk management practices as part of the 2nd Line of Defense, including communication of applicable information to maintain an environment of risk ownership and awareness.
The position typically reports to a Corporate Bank Credit Division Manager or Senior Credit Officer.
- Responsible for the overall creditworthiness of loan transactions within the assigned business reporting unit or segment.
- Manage applicable credit exposure to ensure adherence to Region’s Risk Appetite Statement and to all asset quality, diversification, and exposure parameters.
- Communicate and demonstrate sound risk management practices in order to maintain an environment of risk ownership and awareness.
- Exhibit accountability for the quality and profitability (spread relative to risk) associated with the assigned business unit or segment.
- Partner and consult with subject matter experts for leveraged lending, sponsor-backed and specialized industries loan transactions, as applicable.
- Serve on ad hoc projects as a contributing member.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Eight (8) years of related experience
- Completion of a formal credit training program is preferred.
- Broad knowledge of all credit disciplines and business strategy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Skilled in applicable computer software
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Incentive Pay PlansThis role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance. Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
