Network Engineer; Onsite in Mobile, AL

Overview

The role involves managing, planning, monitoring, and supporting the network infrastructure, including Cisco Switches, Routers, Wireless Controllers, Access Points, and security devices. The position requires testing new technologies, recommending solutions, and providing 24×7 network support on an on‑call schedule, including scheduled maintenance during weekends and evenings.

• Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent work experience
• Working knowledge and good troubleshooting abilities of network problems and outages across a wide range of hardware and software products in a networking environment

• College Degree (BS, BA)
• Strong understanding of switching, routing, TCP/IP unicast and multicast traffic, static and dynamic routing protocols
• Experience with network monitoring software and protocols such as SNMP, ICMP, and Syslog

• Network Engineer Certification

• Assist in the management, planning, monitoring, support, and operations of the network infrastructure
• Assist with testing new products, technologies, and configurations
• Recommend networking solutions to meet departmental and organizational goals
• Support applications and processes that depend on the network
• Provide 24×7 network support by participating in the IT Network group after hours on call schedule and performing scheduled maintenance and upgrades during weekends and evening hours
