The Applications Support Analyst II role at Austal USA supports the organization’s software and application environment. The analyst evaluates current systems, recommends improvements, and implements changes, working at a Mid‑Senior level in a full‑time position.

PurposeThis position evaluates the organization’s software and application setup, identifies improvement opportunities, and applies changes to maintain and enhance application functionality. The analyst focuses on configuration, maintenance, and integration of applications to align with user requirements and organizational objectives related to budget, efficiency, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and implementation of new and existing computer and software applications.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new software and updates for existing applications.
- Conduct in‑depth assessments by gathering data, analyzing system and business requirements, and developing improvement plans.
- Configure, update, and debug applications to maintain end‑to‑end solutions.
- Provide support for COTS applications, implement new business requirements, and augment current application functionality across corporate systems.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues for application users; elevate complex problems to senior team members as needed.
- Ensure data integrity through quality control, validation, and documentation; develop requirements for business development initiatives.
- Create and execute test scripts independently with minimal oversight.
- Collaborate with senior team members on feasibility analysis, scope projects, and prioritization of deliverables and product functionality.
- Maintain documentation for record‑keeping, change control, and configuration maintenance.
- Analyze data interpretation from database‑provided queries.
- Partner with development and analytic teams to provide routine reporting on software solution performance.
- Participate in Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Functionality Testing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; education and experience may be combined to meet the requirement.
- 3–5 years of experience in Applications Support or a similar role.
- Intermediate understanding of software applications, IT support principles, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of computers, software applications, and systems maintenance.
- Ability to work effectively in an ever‑changing environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience coordinating scheduled events (meetings, team tasks).
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Leadership, analytical problem‑solving, risk identification/mitigation, sense of urgency, accountability, and effective communication.
- Experience in manufacturing or a related industry.

- Candidate will be working in production‑facility offices; must be comfortable in a construction‑based environment.
- Age 18 or older at time of application.
- Proof of US Person Status required.
- No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date.
- No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date.
- Willingness to submit to a drug screen and background check.
Microsoft Office – Excel and Word.
Discretion ExercisedModerate discretion when addressing application issues and troubleshooting user problems. The role involves independently resolving a broader range of issues using established procedures and knowledge, while exercising judgment to determine when complex or non‑standard problems require escalation to senior support teams.
