. We are looking for a project manager whose experience focuses on client development and delivery of front‑end due diligence and planning for data center projects. The ideal candidate should have a proven background in successfully delivering data center and mission‑critical projects, ranging from site selection due diligence to master/campus planning and pre‑design site development activities. This position offers an opportunity to join one of the largest, fastest‑growing, and comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media & Telecom) practices in the industry.
As the Project Manager (Data Center due diligence and planning), you will manage and deliver projects, develop and secure work from a robust global client base, and expand HDR’s reputation within these markets. Your responsibilities will include leading multi‑disciplinary planning and design teams from conception to completion, tracking project budgets, scopes, and schedules, ensuring quality deliverables, and fostering strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage all aspects of due diligence and front‑end planning projects for data centers, with potential to work on semiconductor, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
- Lead multi‑disciplinary project teams of engineers, scientists, and specialists to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Travel 10‑30% to project sites and client meetings, including international travel if needed.
- Control project budget, scope, and schedule.
- Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards.
- Forecasting, invoicing, and contract management.
- Promote HDR through regular client interface.
- Recruit mission critical staff in collaboration with the Business Group Manager.
- Create vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Lead HDR in interview presentations.
- Work cooperatively with local office leads, business group leads, technical directors, and marketing managers.
- Participate in project pursuits and developing project scope.
- Coordinate work of professional staff of architects and/or engineers.
- Establish client relations, and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
- Participate in reviews with governing agencies for compliance.
- Conduct design development and contract document work sessions with multidisciplinary staff.
- Coordinate workload through entire project development to ensure completion of documents on schedule.
- Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort to stay within agreed schedule.
- Facilitate/participate in project reviews in collaboration with accounting and technical team management.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture.
- Professional Engineer or Licensed Project Management Professional.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 7 years related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
- Ability to interact with various design teams and excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
