Position: A320 Quality Supervisor I (2nd shift)

Job Description

Airbus is looking for a Quality Supervisor I (2nd Shift) to join our A320 team in Mobile, AL.

You will direct, supervise and coordinate all operational Quality activities in Single Aisle Flowline within a defined area of responsibility. Together with the team, you will manage, motivate and develop the Quality team, including Lead Inspectors, and ensure Airbus Quality Standards for the entire aircraft based on the defined inspection dossier and relevant regulations.

Your Working Environment

On the 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Flowline Quality Line Side Inspection Team, ensuring Level 3 qualification of inspection personnel meets Airbus requirements.
  • Ensure Aircraft production and the milestone FOT comply with Quality, cost and lead-time targets of FAL‑USA.
  • Act as the focal point for all Customer presentations and interactions.
  • Risk mitigation of quality escapes endangering aircraft or product safety, launching immediate corrective actions.
  • Serve as focal point for all external EASA Audits in the area of responsibility.
  • Work within a MFT to resolve quality issues and maintain constant feedback loops with MAP, ME, QCM, AQCM and FCM.
  • Ensure all EASA‑POA regulatory requirements are implemented in Flowline Product Quality and manufacturing organization.
  • Support and project‑manage sustainable improvement projects and standardize ways of working such as Quality Excellence.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations, recommend personnel actions and collaborate with Quality Manager on employee communication.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in aviation (quality, manufacturing engineering, assembly processes, production methods, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities
  • High degree of flexibility and initiative.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, structured working approach, ability to manage complex information.
  • Experience with principles, practices, methods and tools used in aircraft manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in handling non-conformities and design query notes.
  • Knowledge of aircraft manufacturing processes with strong emphasis on structure/mechanical/paint tasks.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and SAP.
Physical Requirements
  • 100% onsite.
  • Vision adequate to read material on computer screens.
  • Hearing sufficient for office conversation and safety alerts.
  • Speaking adequate for in‑person and electronic communication.
  • Capacity to operate office electronic equipment.
  • Occasional carrying up to 20lbs (9kg) in training or continuous improvement projects.
  • Occasional lifting up to 20lbs (9kg).
  • Ability to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods at the computer and meetings.
  • Occasional squatting or kneeling to retrieve items from lower shelves; ability to work outside hangers in changing locations; ability to work on movable lifts at ~40 ft.
