We’re growing carefully, and each new teammate shapes our shop’s future.

A Day in the Role Morning starts with a job traveler in hand and a 20‑ton workpiece on deck. You team up with a spotter, rig the part, and hoist it onto a Horizontal Boring Mill or Vertical Turret Lathe. With parts up to 44,000 lbs, you confirm fixturing, sweep in datums, and bring the program online. Throughout the run, you verify critical features with large‑scale metrology, make thoughtful offsets, and collaborate with engineering on strategy—especially for first‑time or complex jobs.

You close the day by documenting traceability and leaving the machine ready for the next operation.

What You’ll DoSet up and/or run HBMs and VTLs to engineering drawings and job travelers.

Rig, lift, position, and clamp large work pieces safely using cranes and precision fixturing.

Verify features in process with indicators, height gages, precision levels, and other large‑format inspection tools.

Adjust tool/work offsets and perform minor control edits to hold print tolerances.

Partner with engineering and supervision on setups for complex or first‑run parts.

Flag safety, tooling, and quality risks early to protect people and productivity.

Operate overhead cranes and rigging gear per shop standards (we’ll train/certify if needed).Maintain accurate records, including material traceability, throughout each job.

What You Bring Hands‑on experience with large CNC machines: HBMs, VTLs, large boring mills, or similar heavy equipment.

Comfort around heavy, oversized parts and precision fixturing systems.

Ability to read prints and apply GD&T.Know‑how with large‑scale inspection methods: height gauges, dial indicators, precision levels.

Familiarity with Fanuc or equivalent CNC controls; program editing is a plus.

Independent setup and programming capability preferred and rewarded.

Overhead crane use or willingness to earn certification.

Strong safety mindset with rigging and heavy equipment.
