Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Clinic – Rheumatology

Responsibilities

• Assists registered nurse and/or physicians with exams and procedures; takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure; administers medications and injections according to orders.
• Maintains patient records; performs routine tests and procedures (dipstick urinalysis, hematocrits, EKG, tympanometry, audiometry, inhalation therapy, pregnancy tests, blood glucose).
• Maintains inventories of clinical supplies and medications; ensures exam rooms ready; completes calls to parents/guardians; calls prescriptions to pharmacies; prepares lab, X‑ray, referral forms.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing school meeting minimum standards for the State of Alabama; current Alabama LPN license or multi‑state LPN license under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Ability to work the defined schedule and overtime as required; regular and prompt attendance.
