VSC Fire & Security in Mobile, Alabama is seeking candidates for the position of Safety Coordinator.

Qualifications
  • Three years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or comparable management experience.
  • Knowledge of Construction/General Industry as pertains to OSHA.
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Proficient in MS Office/Excel/Teams.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Critical thinker and problem‑solving skills
  • Team Player
  • Great interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Desired but not required
    • OSHA 30 or OSHA 510
Responsibilities
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments daily/weekly to identify potential hazards on both jobsites and warehouses and recommend corrective action to the proper manager and Division Manager.
  • Lead Safety Meetings as requested.
  • Investigate and analyze accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions to identify root causes and implement preventative measures to reduce accidents.
  • Maintains records of training etc., as they apply to the safety program., and teach as needed.
  • Attend all required meeting as requested by the Regional Safety Manager, Director of Safety or Division Manager.
  • Update and maintain the Safety Data Sheets for the division yearly or as needed to ensure chemicals are up to date.
  • Works with Management and Employees to resolve any safety related issues.
  • Continuously learn and attend development classes as requested.
  • Any other assigned duties by the Director of Safety and Regional Safety Manager.
