Responsibilities- Responsible for the installation, test, and balance energy management systems as they pertain to the installation of controls for refrigeration systems, HVAC-R, and lighting in a grocery store or cold storage distribution format. Repair, test, adjust, or install electronic equipment, such as industrial controls, transmitters, and antennas.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate with customers, building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff. Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes regarding customer documentation and closeout processes.
- Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test equipment or software, and apply knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems. Inspect components for accurate assembly and installation or for defects (e.g., loose connections or frayed wires).
- Maintain thorough knowledge of energy management systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems (Novar, Danfoss, Emerson CPC).
- Maintain equipment logs recording performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
- Install, program, troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair control systems for HVAC-R, refrigeration, and lighting controls in a grocery store and cold storage atmosphere.
- Read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, service bulletins, manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations; study blueprints and schematics to determine installation procedures.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control problems, offer solutions, and implement them.
Formal Education Requirement: High School OR ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred level:
Technical Degree. Minimum Years of
Experience:
5 years of experience (with HS/GED).
- EPA 608 Certification preferred but not required.
- Valid Driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented and highly motivated.
- Mechanical aptitude. Ability to work nights, weekends and out of town as required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High level of professionalism and diplomacy. Strong customer focus and project management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimum supervision.
