Perform prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained temperature-controlled merchandisers with minimal supervision. Diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities, with guidance from a Master or Lead Technician.

• Perform routine maintenance and demonstrate operating knowledge of refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning units.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, leak searching, coil washing, and component replacements.
• Detect and repair leaks, solder, diagnose airflow issues, install PVC drain pipes, replace motors, use meters and sensors, and perform other repair tasks as specified.
• Complete work tickets and communicate professionally using electronic tools.
• Maintain vehicle inventory and adhere to maintenance guidelines.
• Develop customer relations and articulate system issues accurately.
• Understand electrical schematics and handle refrigerants safely.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

• High School Diploma/GED required
• HVAC-R Technical School Degree preferred

• 5 years in the field or 3 years with certification from a Technical School for external candidates

• Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and walking long distances
• Excellent communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and ability to work nights/weekends
• Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC preferred
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required
