Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Description
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing minor repairs on various equipment. You will often work under the guidance of more experienced technicians. Your role includes inspecting and evaluating operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, vacuum, and vibration, as well as replacing expendable parts like belts, hoses, fluids, and filters. Additionally, you will service and maintain docks, commercial doors, and locks, and perform preventative maintenance tasks such as filter changes, condenser cleaning, oil changes, machinery lubrication, and greasing.
Responsibilities- Inspect and evaluate equipment operating characteristics.
- Service and maintain docks, commercial doors, and door hardware.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as filter changes and condenser cleaning.
- Conduct basic repairs to equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Complete training on life-critical work practices related to modified confined space procedures and hazardous energy control.
- Utilize paper and digital communications for documentation.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in servicing and maintaining commercial dock levelers, doors, and overhead door hardware.
- Experience in maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to interpret instructions in various forms and execute tasks as trained.
- Proficiency in writing routine reports and managing email communications.
- Capability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Skills & Qualifications
- Preference for candidates with undergraduate business or trade school training.
- Experience with door manufacturers such as Power Ramp, Nabco, Stanley Access Technology, Record USA, Tormax, Besam, and Allegion Door Hardware is preferred.
- AAADM certification is preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mobile, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
