Housing Assistant, Social Work

Employer Industry: Social Services

• Accept and process residents staying in the Family Haven Shelter, completing necessary documentation for intake and discharge
• Monitor resident activities during assigned shifts to ensure safety, security, and compliance with house rules
• Transport residents as needed and respond to emergency situations promptly and calmly
• Answer telephone inquiries regarding shelter operations and assist the public with various needs
• Maintain accurate logs of activities and issues encountered during shifts

• High School Diploma or GED and valid State Driver's License
• Minimum of one year of experience in security or social service work preferred
• Ability to handle a variety of behaviors from the public effectively
• Strong communication skills to address inquiries and emergencies
• Willingness to work in front-line emergency and social service environments

• Experience working in a lodge or shelter environment
• Familiarity with emergency response protocols
• Skills in documentation and record-keeping
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
• Knowledge of community resources for residents

• Salary range: $9.50 - $9.75 hourly
