Visiting Nurse Services has a part time opening for a Nursing Assistant.
Responsibilities & Qualifications- Applicants must be cheerful, compassionate and enthusiastic in the manner in which they work with our clients, and work to develop a positive rapport with clients and families in the daily performance of the job.
- The Nursing Assistant provides non-skilled supportive care for clients (a.k.a. patients) in their own homes, safely and efficiently, working cooperatively with Visiting Nurse Services Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and other department staff.
- Monitors and documents each client interaction accurately, timely, and in accordance with organizational, state, and federal requirements, checks vital signs, and operates medical equipment during daily duties.
- Responsible for light cleaning, shopping assistance, personal care such as bathing and oral care, and other daily life skills, ensuring a safe home environment based on each client’s situation.
- Possesses knowledge of procedures and techniques for assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting Mobridge Regional Hospital and Clinics requirements.
- Follows, supports, and enforces all Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics policies, including HIPAA, infection control, workplace safety, and confidentiality requirements.
- Assists in admission and discharge of clients into and out of the program.
- Position requires lifting, bending, stooping, and near acuity vision for reading orders, charting, and operating equipment; capable of essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Preferred experience in a healthcare environment, especially with geriatric clientele; willing to train the right person with required certification and stable work history.
- This position is benefit eligible depending on availability and scheduled hours, per hospital policy.
