The Senior Accountant provides high level analysis and performs complex accounting tasks to ensure accounting processes are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IRS and other regulatory agencies. This includes responsibilities related to company financial audits, real estate and lease accounting, and financial statement consolidation. The position is responsible for writing internal accounting memos to support/guide the company’s adherence to GAAP as it relates to changes in facts/circumstances or new accounting pronouncements.

The Senior Accountant recommends, designs, and implements controls based on policies, provides review and analysis on a variety of areas as assigned, and routinely interfaces with department/senior management, third‑party administrators, and auditors to provide accounting services and answer questions.

• Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Report organization’s finances to management and make recommendations about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures per GAAP.
• Prepare accounting memos detailing GAAP research and recommendations.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses, including tenant/sub‑tenant accounting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to plan and organize.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Stays current with new regulations and accounting pronouncements from the Financial Accounting Standards Board and Private Company Counsel relating to accounting principles and reporting requirements.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Advanced Excel and query skills, with intermediate Word skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines under tight time constraints.
• Ability to work productively in an independent setting.
• Ability to deal with complexity, research results and provide reports to Executives.
• Integrity in all dealings with respect for utmost confidentiality.

5 years related experience.

4‑Year/Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience/training.

Occasional Saturday work and overtime is required. 5% travel to stores.
