We are the go-to steel distributor for the agriculture, auto, and construction industries. Our warehouse carries approximately 3,000 metal products in varying size, shape, and type. In addition to quality metal products, we are also a processing facility.
Our team goes the extra mile with more than 20,000 annual deliveries ranging from the Central Valley to Yosemite, and on‑site we process more than an additional 10,000 transactions. We keep busy around here, which is why we are growing our team.
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting cycles, and ensuring seamless financial operations across multiple entities. Whether you are an early‑career professional or a seasoned senior accountant, you will find a collaborative environment that values technical accuracy and proactive problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities- General Accounting & Reporting:
Provide timely support across multiple related companies to assist in accurate financial statement compilations. - Core Processing:
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including vendor payments and transaction documentation. - Reconciliations:
Perform routine and complex reconciliations for P&L and Balance Sheet accounts, including bank accounts and debt agreements. - Fixed Asset Management:
Analyze Construction in Progress (CIP) and maintain personal property assessment listings. - Month‑End & Audits:
Execute close procedures and provide documentation for annual financial statement reviews and audits. - System Integrity:
Maintain data accuracy between multiple ERPs and operating modules.
- Complex Problem Solving:
Investigate and resolve high‑level accounting discrepancies across affiliated companies. - Integrity of Acquisitions:
Manage financial integration for complex entities and high‑volume accounts within the portfolio. - Internal Controls:
Refine and document internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure GAAP compliance. - Technical Mentorship:
Act as a resource for the team, providing guidance on difficult reconciliations and GAAP application.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
- Solid foundation in practical accounting concepts and financial calculations.
- Proficiency in financial reporting software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (Public accounting preferred).
- CPA designation is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and high‑level reconciliations.
