Accounting Manager​/Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee core accounting activities for a manufacturing organization in Modesto, California. This Long-term Contract, Accounting Manager position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can guide daily financial operations, strengthen team performance, and help refine departmental processes. The Accounting Manager will work closely with leadership and cross-functional partners to improve reporting accuracy, support closing activities, and drive greater operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting activities across payables, receivables, account reconciliations, and cash-related processes to keep operations running smoothly.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance support to accounting staff while fostering accountability and focused growth.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close tasks, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is complete and accurate.
• Examine financial entries and transactions to confirm proper coding, accuracy, and timely processing.
• Track outstanding balances, collection efforts, supplier disbursements, and cash flow movements to support sound financial management.
• Strengthen and maintain accounting controls, documented procedures, and consistent operational standards across the department.
• Prepare materials for audit and compliance activities and respond to information requests in a timely manner.
• Recommend and implement improvements to workflows, reporting methods, and department processes, including support for system enhancement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain financial and operational reporting that helps leadership evaluate performance and make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues, streamline processes, and document best practices for ongoing efficiency.
