Part‑Time Instructor of Social Work and Human Services – Modesto Junior College (School of Behavioral and Social Science)

Salary Range: $78.15–$124.94 hourly (Doctorate $92.09–$128.22); overtime $30/hour

The successful candidate will join the Social Work and Human Services department that continues to create curriculum responsive to student needs, increasing student completion through strategies geared to increase student equity.

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Sociology.
• Knowledge of and ability to appraise the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• Ability to develop curriculum or services that stress innovation and improve student equity.
• Experience in teaching Social Work/Psychology/Sociology at community college.
• Current knowledge of Addiction Studies and assessment processes.
• Experience addressing equity in the classroom.
• Knowledge of Hispanic‑Serving designation.

• Mobility: sit or stand for long periods, move about an office, reach above and below desk level.
• Dexterity: fine manipulation sufficient to operate a keyboard, handle individual papers.
• Lifting: occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Visual & Hearing: read and adjust focus, normal hearing and speaking.
• Emotional/Psychological Factors: concentrate, meet deadlines.

• Teach lower‑division courses providing foundational knowledge for social service delivery.
