Salary: Hourly $78.15 – $124.94;
Doctorate $92.09 – $128.22;
Faculty office hours pay $30 per hour (part‑time faculty)
Benefits: Not eligible, except Workers’ Compensation
Scope of AssignmentThe candidate will join the Political Science department, creating curriculum responsive to student needs and increasing completion through equity strategies.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s in political science, government, or international relations OR Bachelor’s in any of the above and a Master’s in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, ethnic studies, a Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR equivalent.
- Knowledge of diverse student backgrounds and sensitivity to diversity challenges.
- Experience developing innovative curriculum and services that improve equity.
- Enthusiasm for the learning process and commitment to supportive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Ability to operate effectively in an environment of change and ambiguity.
- Recent experience with minority students and culturally responsive teaching.
- Knowledge of assessment processes for student success.
- Mobility: sit or stand for long periods.
- Dexterity: operate keyboard, handle papers.
- Lifting: occasional lift up to 25 lbs.
- Visual, hearing, speaking requirements.
- Ability to make decisions, concentrate, meet deadlines.

Responsibilities- Teach lower‑division courses in American Government and Politics.
- Advance equitable student learning through instruction.
- Inform students of course requirements and evaluation procedures.
- Prepare and grade assignments, maintain records.
- Implement and assess student‑learning outcomes.
- Engage in data inquiry and self‑assessment for student success.
- Participate in professional development for FLEX requirements.
- Maintain current subject knowledge and teaching strategies.
- Maintain professional conduct and ethics.
