Part Time Faculty office Hours are paid at a flat rate of $30 per hour.

Scope Of Assignment

Under the general supervision of the Division Dean for the discipline, the successful applicant will provide lecture and/or laboratory instruction in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, and class schedules; evaluate progress of students; advise students concerning educational matters, and perform other related duties as assigned. The successful candidate will join a History/Political Science department that continues to create curriculum responsive to student needs and to increase student completion through strategies aimed at improving student equity.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s in History/Political Science OR Bachelor’s in History/Political Science AND Master’s in political science, humanities, geography, area studies, women’s studies, social science or ethnic studies OR the equivalent. And/or Master’s in political science, government, or international relations OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, and any ethnic studies, Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR the equivalent.

Qualifications

Knowledge of and ability to appraise the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Sensitivity to the needs, problems and challenges associated with the diversity of the community college student population.
