Job Summary

The Fabricator role (II, III) is responsible for using various raw materials, tools, and hands-on skills to create components for finished machinery. This role involves setting up and operating machinery, such as saws, hydraulic shears, fastener presses, and single-station punches, while ensuring products meet specifications. Fabricators read, interpret, and follow blueprints or instructions to produce accurate parts. Fabricator II and III roles require the ability to adjust machinery to ensure precision and quality, with Fabricator III having the expertise to set up and operate all machines in the fabrication shop, maintaining the highest product standards.

SALARY RANGE

$24- $40 per hour.

  • Ability toadjust machinery according to blueprints, work instructions, specifications, and material requirements.
  • Experience setting up and operating metal-cutting saws, including blade changes, adjustments, material staging, and hydraulic material handling.
  • Experience setting upand operating hydraulic shears for processing sheet metal.
  • Experience setting upand operating fastener presses.
  • Experience setting upand operating single-station punches.
  • Experience setting upand operating laser machines.
  • Experience setting upand operating CNCpunch machines.
  • Experience setting upand operating press brakes.
  • Experience setting upand operating roll-forming equipment.
  • Ability to workwith a varietyof raw materials used in metal fabrication.
  • Ability to properly stage, handle, measure, and process metal materials.
  • Ability to identify and correct basic machine setup or processing issues.
  • Ability to inspect finished components for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
  • Ability to perform Fabricator I and Fabricator II responsibilities as required.

Functional & Technical Skills

  • Ability to readand interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and manufacturing practices.
  • Knowledge of various steel types, grades, and gauges.
  • Proficient use of calipers and tape measures.
  • Ability to accurately measure and verify dimensions.
  • Ability to understand machine settings and make adjustments to achieve required specifications.
  • Ability to recognize material, dimensional,and quality issues.
  • Ability to follow established production and quality standards.
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to passand maintain Forklift Driver Certification.

Quality & Attention to Detail

  • Demonstrates a strong attention todetail and commitment to quality.
  • Consistently verifies measurements, machine settings, and finished components.
  • Identifies defects, inconsistencies, and deviations from specifications.
  • Takes ownership of producing accurate, high-quality components.
