About the PositionThe Project Director/Senior California Tobacco Control Manager will lead a three‑year grant program, supervise project staff, manage the budget, and ensure timely delivery of grant reports and other deliverables. The role focuses on rural communities, particularly Hispanic/Latino constituents, to amplify their voice in tobacco‑control advocacy and public‑policy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Implement the California Tobacco Control Grant scope of work, including contract management, budget oversight, intervention design, and evaluation.
- Lead planning and execution of comprehensive grassroots tobacco‑control advocacy campaigns that build community capacity and demonstrate constituent support for local policy changes.
- Supervise project staff, evaluator, sub‑contractors, interns, and volunteers; support community engagement activities.
- Oversee the evaluation process and ensure high‑quality reporting to funding agencies.
- Act as liaison between the Stanislaus County Hispanic/Latino community, partner organizations, leaders, and ACS CAN staff and volunteers.
- Collaborate with ACS CAN to implement a communication plan that reaches diverse Hispanic/Latino audiences through earned, paid, and social media.
- Work with senior managers to support policy and fundraising goals for ACS CAN.
- Represent ACS CAN and its mission in a professional manner.
- Adhere to ACS CAN policies, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience, including at least one year of health promotion, policy campaigns, or community organizing and one year of supervisory and grant‑management experience.
- Experience working with Hispanic/Latino communities in a culturally competent manner.
- Spanish language fluency preferred.
- Strong writing, oral, and interpersonal skills for grant reporting, outreach, and collaboration.
- Political campaign experience preferred.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to translate future possibilities into breakthrough strategies.
- Action‑oriented with high energy and enthusiasm.
- Effective planning and prioritization to meet commitments.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to build partnerships.
- Network building across diverse groups.
- Drive engagement to motivate teams and stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity and adapting to shifting demands.
- Willingness to travel up to 50 of the time, including some weekends and overnight stays.
- Ability to reach, bend, climb, stoop, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Salary: $81,000 – $90,000 annually.
