TRUCK DRIVERJob Description
REPORTS TO: Logistics/Auto Manager
SUMMARY: Responsible for delivery and pick up of donated and processed goods. Responsible for cleaning up behind the buildings and taking the salvage merchandise to the local dump. Responsible for delivering customer-purchased merchandise to the customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Responsible for delivering the processed goods from the processing center to the different thrift stores. The truck driver is responsible for unloading the clothing racks onto the thrift stores’ back stockroom floor.
- Responsible for filling out the daily and weekly truck maintenance report and giving the report to the Logistics Coordinator. Notifies the Logistics Coordinator of any safety concerns and any problems with the truck operation. Maintains daily mileage log up to date and turns in all gas receipts to the Logistics Coordinator.
- Retrieves salvage merchandise from the thrift store and deliver’s them to the city dump or salvage yard. Delivers receipt to the Auto Manager.
- Picks up supplies from the thrift stores and delivers them to HTC, (i.e., hangers, clothing racks, and bins). Ensures that the clothing racks are well secured in the back of the truck so that they do not move while the truck is in operation.
- Maintains a small inventory of necessary tools, first aid kit, and supplies, keepings tools locked up when not in use.
- Picks up donations as requested by the logistics department and delivers to appropriate location.
- Maintains a professional appearance, exhibits appropriate behavior with customers and other staff and observes all safety requirements as outlined in the Injury and Illness Policy.
- Follows all organizational policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, infection control, privacy and confidentiality, and HIPAA.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good communication skills, reading, listening and writing.
- Possesses and maintains valid California Driver’s License and appropriate automobile insurance.
- Good writing skills and the ability to follow written instructions.
- Successful completion of physical/drug screen and all other pre-employment verifications.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position works in a truck using a lift gate and standard store fixtures.
WORK SCHEDULE: Position is regular full-time required to work a regularly scheduled 40-hour workweek (Monday through Saturday as scheduled), for eight hours per day, with overtime as needed to meet the needs of the organization.
