Experience fulfillment at Heartstrings Pet Hospice! Join our team as an in-home veterinarian serving clients in Joliet, Kankakee and surrounding areas such as Plainfield, New Lenox, Lockport, Mokena and Frankfort.

Base pay range: $80,000 – $120,000 per year
. Pay will reflect your skills and experience.

Our mission is to support pets and their families during difficult times, enabling pets to pass peacefully in the comfort of their own homes. We prioritize deep, meaningful connections with pet families, colleagues, and the community.

• Provide in-home euthanasia and hospice care for geriatric and terminally ill pets.
• Guide families in end-of-life decisions for their pets.
• Build relationships with local veterinary clinics and act as an extension of their care.
• Maintain a mobile practice, visiting patients at their homes, with appointment windows primarily between 9 am and 5 pm.
• Participate in team building and retreat activities.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD or equivalent).
• At least 1 year of practicing veterinary experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and 100 lb assisted.
• Comfortable with prolonged driving and performing tasks such as walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, stooping, standing and reaching.
• Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills for steady hand use of medical tools.
