Position Servesthe Molalla River Middle School

To help supervise middle or high school students who are being disciplined for violations of the student conduct code.

• Minimum 2 yrs. of college
• 21 years or older
• Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students and staff.
• Ability to understand and follow oral directions
• Ability to supervise individuals or groups of students in an instructional setting without constant teacher oversight
• Ability to work effectively in an environment which can be both physically and emotionally fatiguing

• Monitor and assist students who have been assigned in-house suspension and/or the Alternative Student Assistance Program.
• Assist in the supervision of students in the building and on the grounds.
• Report violations of school policies to administration.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding your dealings with students.
• Assist administration in preventing fights, resolving conflicts and other types of intervention.
• Exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive and confrontational situations.
• Demonstrate awareness of student behavior, gang identification symbols and language, and symptoms of drug/alcohol use.
• Deal appropriately and effectively with strangers on school grounds.
• Maintain appropriate records of student referrals.
• Communicate regularly with staff and parents.
• Meet and collaborate with the Behavioral Intervention Specialist to create an appropriate plan for individual students.

• Must possess and maintain a valid First Aid card
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
