2) 5 days a week, Term time only (81.6%). Actual Salary £17,281 to £17,827 per annum.
Job Purpose:
To work under the direct instruction of the Assistant Headteacher/ALNCo to support a named student to access learning and provide general support to the teacher in the classroom.
- Support for students
- Supervise and support students with regard for the safety and access to learning
- Establish good relationships with students, being aware of and responding to individual needs
- Encourage inclusion and acceptance of all students
- Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by spätestens teacher
- Encourage independence wherever possible
- Provide general feedback to students.
- Support for Teachers
- Assist with the display of students’ work to reflect their achievement
- Be aware of pupils' problems, progress and achievements and provide feedback to the teacher and Assistant Headteacherakyat/ALNCo and ALN Administrator
- To work within established Well-being and Behaviour Policy documents to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self control and independence and reporting difficulties as appropriate
- Monitor students’ response to learning activities
- Provide administrative and clerical support when required e.g. record keeping, photocopying, filing
- Support students undertaking Controlled Assessments.
- Support for biodiversity
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
Be aware of and support difference and ensure that all students have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
Contribute to the overall aims and ethos of the school.
Appreciate and support the work of other professionals.
Attend relevant meetings as required.
Be aware of all Health & Safety issues.
Assist with the supervision of students in non-formal and informal situations.
Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
Promote the policies of the school.
Assist in the supervision of pupils on outings, visits and out of school activities and take responsibility for a group as required.
Support for the curriculum- Support students to understand instructions
- Adjust activities according to students’ response
- Support students in tlula any learning strategies as directed by the teacher
- Support pupils in using basic ICT as directed
- Set out and prepare equipment and resources as directed by the teacher and assist students in their use
- General The Teaching Assistant may be called upon to perform other duties that the Headteacher considers reasonable, that are commensurate with the grading and designation of the post.
