About the role

We are currently looking to recruit a Project Worker to work with vulnerable people with complex needs and substance misuse issues on Nacro's Flintshire Doorstop project.

Doorstop is a generic floating support service working with people residing in fixed accommodation units in and around Flintshire. The Project Worker will work with service users to ensure they receive the best service from Nacro and that this is coordinated with the broader supporting environment.

Our services aim to motivate and support people to stabilise their behaviour, make positive changes in their lives, address underlying causes of difficulties, and engage in meaningful activities such as training, volunteering and developing confidence and skills required to live independently and successfully in a permanent tenancy. Support planning is person‑centred, delivered in a psychologically‑informed, trauma‑informed, gender‑informed way.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality, effective support services.
  • Uphold Nacro’s values and behaviours and translate those into everyday activity.
  • Ensure safeguarding and risk management is a key part of our support work and that any safeguarding alerts and/or incidents are safely managed.
  • Meet service quality standards and adhere to all operational and policy standards.
  • Ensure all service user support and safety plans are in place.
Qualifications
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people with a range of support needs, especially substance misuse issues.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk.
  • Excellent communication skills to motivate service users.
  • The ability to carry out assessments for all service users to identify individual needs or barriers and then produce an agreed action plan that is regularly reviewed, monitored and outcomes collated.
  • Organisational and planning skills, able to deal with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and in a highly pressurised environment while responding appropriately to the needs of the service users.
  • Ability to work flexibly and proactively.

Driving licence and access to a vehicle with Business Insurance is essential.

A DBS check will be required for this role.

The ability to speak Welsh or the willingness to learn would be an advantage.
