Group Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced Group Team Leader to join a busy manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will lead a small team on the shop floor, ensuring safe, efficient production of sheet metal and fabricated products while meeting quality and output targets.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach and motivate a team of operators to achieve daily production targets and maintain high standards of quality and safety
  • Plan and allocate work, monitor progress and adjust resources to meet deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and production procedures
  • Train and develop team members, carry out performance reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot production issues, support first-line technical fixes and liaise with maintenance/engineering as required
  • Monitor inventory of materials and report shortages or non-conformances
  • Maintain accurate production records and contribute to shift handovers
Required skills and experience:
  • Previous manufacturing/production experience, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role
  • Hands-on experience with sheet metal or fabricated products and an understanding of production processes for these items
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, able to motivate and manage a diverse team
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic numeracy and the ability to read production drawings and specifications
  • Commitment to health & safety and quality standards
Desirable:
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with fabrication tooling and equipment
