- Welding Instructor role at Black Hawk College
Black Hawk College seeks adjunct/part‑time instructors for the Welding Program. Classes are offered at the QC Campus in Moline, the East Campus in Galva, and other off‑campus sites. We are accepting applications on an on‑going basis for anticipated fall needs; review of applications will begin immediately.
Description Of DutiesFaculty members are expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi; developing lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students' educational experience; developing and executing appropriate methods of evaluating student performance; and securing and maintaining the equipment and instructional materials essential to the presentation of the classroom material.
Education & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in welding trades, agriculture, mechanics, industrial technology, or a related field, or accredited trade/technical program completion in welding with a minimum of five years industry welding experience; alternatively, no degree with eight years of industry welding experience. Experience should include Arc, MIG, TIG, oxy‑acetylene welding and cutting. CWI or CWE preference or ability to certify within three years required.
Teaching experience and/or training experience preferred. Candidates must possess demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction.

Pay is commensurate with education and experience.
- Less Than a Master’s Degree: $693.36 per equivalent hour
- Master’s Degree: $808.92 per equivalent hour
- Doctorate: $866.70 per equivalent hour
