OverviewThe Project Manager/Scrum Master is a pivotal role within the credit union, responsible for driving the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact projects that support strategic business objectives. This hybrid role combines the structure of traditional Waterfall project management as well as working with product teams managing work using Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, ensuring they deliver value efficiently and effectively.
The role involves managing multiple projects—often with technical, regulatory, operational, and member service implications. Will successfully complete

- Manage projects or initiatives from initiation through implementation
- Manage large‑scale initiatives including stakeholders across business and technical teams

- Lead, organize and execute with little or no direction, deliver commitments on time, and work on a team within a fast‑paced environment

- Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), or understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in‑depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices
- Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques
- Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
- Credit Union policies and procedures and products and services offered by the Credit Union
- Financial Services digital delivery systems and channels with strong member/customer service experience
- Waterfall Project management methodology
- Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocation, risk management strategies, and communication plans.
- Manage and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Monitor and report on project status, milestones to stakeholders at all levels.
- Coordinate the efforts of team members, third‑party contractors, vendors, and internal partners.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring appropriate escalation as needed.
- Consult with leadership and key stakeholders to clarify and define project requirements.
- Escalate project issues and roadblocks to management for resolution as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key third‑party vendors as stakeholders in project completion.
- Facilitate post‑implementation reviews and incorporate lessons learned into future projects.
- Facilitate all scrum events:
Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. - Act as a leader who coaches and supports Agile Scrum teams to ensure optimal efficiency, productivity, and communication.
- Develop and improve Agile processes, prioritize development and improvements, and work alongside key stakeholders to implement.
- Guide and coach the Scrum team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high‑quality products and services to our customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years related experience
- PMP Certification preferred
- Agile CSM certification preferred
