About the Role

Our Credentialed Veterinary Technician at City Line Veterinary Hospital play a critical role in supporting veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care to animal patients. This position involves performing clinical tasks such as collecting samples, administering medications, and assisting during surgical procedures to ensure the health and well‑being of animals. The technician will also be responsible for monitoring patient status, maintaining medical records, and educating pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans.

Working closely with the veterinary team, the technician helps create a compassionate and efficient environment that promotes positive outcomes for patients. Ultimately, this role is essential in bridging the gap between veterinary expertise and client communication, ensuring comprehensive care within the clinic setting.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician certification from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure or registration as required by local regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in a clinical veterinary setting.
  • Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical procedures.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
  • Open availability, 7 days a week.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with surgical assistance and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Cornerstone software.
  • DEA and FDA compliance familiarity.
  • Strong communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
  • Continuing education in emerging veterinary technologies and treatments.
Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures by preparing equipment and restraining animals safely.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and tissue for diagnostic testing.
  • Administer prescribed medications, vaccinations, and treatments under veterinary supervision.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and recovery progress, documenting observations accurately in medical records.
  • Educate pet owners on post‑treatment care, nutrition, and preventive health measures to support animal wellness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical instruments and clinic areas to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and communicate needs to ensure uninterrupted clinic operations.

The required skills enable the Vet Technician to perform clinical duties efficiently, such as collecting samples, administering treatments, and assisting in surgeries, ensuring patient safety and care quality. Strong communication skills are essential educating pet owners and collaborating with veterinarians and staff to coordinate patient care.
