Position: Avionics Technician (Pay Preview Inside)

VP Aviation is hiring experienced Aircraft Avionics Technicians to support business aircraft maintenance in Moline, Illinois. Opportunities are available for contract, contract to direct, and direct hire employment. Pay is dependent on experience and job level offering up to $2,000.00 per week at 40 hours not including overtime. If you have experience troubleshooting aircraft electrical systems, performing avionics installations, and supporting business aircraft maintenance, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems

  • Install, modify, and upgrade avionics equipment and wiring

  • Perform aircraft wiring, routing, termination, and system integration

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals

  • Test navigation, communication, electrical, flight management, and avionics systems

  • Complete maintenance documentation in accordance with FAA requirements

  • Support aircraft inspections, modifications, and upgrade projects

  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and work areas while following company and FAA standards

Shift availability may vary based on current business needs and include:

  • Day Shift

  • Second Shift

  • Weekend Shift

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum two years of aircraft avionics experience

  • Experience troubleshooting aircraft electrical and avionics systems

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals

  • Knowledge of FAR Parts 43, 91, 135, and 145

  • Ability to work overtime and various shifts as needed

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Experience

  • Business aircraft avionics systems

  • Flight Management Systems (FMS)

  • Autopilot systems

  • Navigation systems

  • Communication systems

  • EFIS

  • Aircraft electrical systems

  • Aircraft lighting systems

  • Pitot-static systems

  • Avionics installations and modifications

The following are considered a plus:

  • Bench repair experience

  • A&P Certificate

  • FCC License
