Responsibilities
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to the crew members.
  • Maintain and submit Daily Reports for specific projects to the Operations Manager.
  • Track man hours, labor and material costs on fixed bid or T&M projects to ensure execution within estimated hours and budget.
  • Install and troubleshoot relays, VFDs, wireless or hard-wired instrumentation and controllers.
  • Work on process, compression and metering equipment used in upstream and midstream sectors of the oilfield.
  • Install electrical power, control, measurement and safety systems for upstream and midstream sectors.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings with the crew and promote awareness of company safety programs.
  • Delegate mentorship for SSEs and help motivate apprentices and electricians to progress in their careers.
  • Conduct bid walks and prepare material and labor estimates per bid.
  • Participate in bid review meetings with the Operations Manager and the Director of I&E.
Minimum Requirements:

Experience, Education and Certifications
  • Minimum of ten (10) years electrical experience in the industrial oil and gas sectors.
  • Experience in all phases of a project for the installation of electrical systems and equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to date on NFPA 70E (NEC) codes and standards.
  • Master or Journeyman electrical license for the State of Texas or Journeyman licensed in a reciprocal state (Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming).
  • Applicable regulatory safety training.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to speak Spanish and English fluently.
Skills
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, switch gear and circuit types; able to troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to work on low and medium voltage equipment and circuits.
  • Knowledge of electrical components commonly found in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to install, wire and loop test PLCs, RTUs and EFMs.
  • Safety-focused with hazard recognition and leadership under pressure.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.
Personal Relationship Skills
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, with the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Problem solving, technical and functional skills with the ability to multi-task and learn.
  • Collaborative, able to work with management, engineering, operations and field personnel.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to multiple projects.
  • Professional communication with customer representatives.

  • Handheld electrical tools as required
Work Conditions
  • Position will work primarily in the field; expect time pressures and coordination with others.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s insurer driving policy requirements.
  • Per diem will be compensated for travel, meals and lodging in accordance with applicable law.
  • Subject to background check, and drug and alcohol testing per federal regulations.
