Join us as a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist to support students' communication and language development in schools.
Position OverviewAs a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals.
Location & HoursStart: now in the Goose Creek area
Hours per week: 4 days (may go to full-time)
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence‑based interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and team members to implement classroom and social activity supports.
- Monitor and document progress, adapting plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Offer guidance to parents, teachers, and staff on strategies to enhance communication skills.
- Maintain accurate records, session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
- Stay current with research, best practices, and techniques in speech‑language pathology.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards.
- Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- South Carolina licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist.
- Preferred:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) from ASHA. - Experience in pediatric or school‑based speech‑language pathology is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, parents, and educators.
- Excellent organizational skills and caseload management.
- Dedication to culturally competent, student‑centered care.
