Work LocationsFloating required regularly to all department locations including Moncks Corner Medical Plaza and BSSF Hospital (West Ashley).
Job SummaryTo provide high quality healthcare through the provision of medical nutrition therapy in a variety of settings to meet the needs of patients, their families and other healthcare professionals. To serve our bariatric surgical and metabolic weight loss patients, through nutritional education and dietary counseling as an important member of our multidisciplinary bariatric and metabolic services team.
Minimum Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Completion of an ADA approved Dietetic Internship Program.
- Experience: Previous experience working with a multidisciplinary bariatric surgical program is strongly encouraged.
- Licensure/Certification: Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and must have an active SC Licensed Registered Dietitian (SC LLR).

Skills:
Assess patients’ nutritional needs and develop and implement plans and goals for nutritional care. Evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of nutritional therapy. Provide education and consultation to patients, families and other healthcare professionals. Communicate with the healthcare team information that impacts patient care. Conduct diabetes self-management education according to best practices in both individual and group settings. Coordinate care, collect diabetes data, and serve as a diabetes resource to the healthcare team.
Follow oral and written instructions and procedures and communicate clearly. - Other: Responsible for professional growth and development, function as a clinical resource for the interdisciplinary care team, utilize evidence-based practice to guide care. Mentor/precept dietetic interns as assigned. Participate in health fairs and other community activities promoting health, wellness and Care Alliance Health Services. Serve as a resource for compliance with modified diets through direct and indirect interaction with the diet office.
