DATA ENGINEER

OBJECTIVES- To design, develop, maintain, and support the Cooperative's data pipelines, integrations, and warehouse solutions to ensure reliable and accessible data for decision-making.
- Possess a working knowledge of the Cooperative's systems databases and data sources, permitting data extraction, transformation, and analysis across platforms.
- To assist with the implementation of the Cooperative's business intelligence and analytics strategy by providing accurate, timely, and comprehensive data models, reports, and tools that support the Cooperative's strategic initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field required. Comparable experience may be substituted. Additional training in databases, data integration, and cloud platforms is desired.
EXPERIENCEA minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in data engineering, database development, or a related field is required. Experience in the utility sector is highly preferred. An additional two (2) years is required to become proficient.
JOB KNOWLEDGEMust have knowledge of SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse concepts. Experience with database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks) required. Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Crystal Reports) and scripting/programming languages (Python, Spark) preferred. Must understand data governance, modeling, and optimization best practices.
ABILITIES & SKILLSMust have the ability to relate well with others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Must possess the ability and skill to analyze data needs, design effective solutions, and deliver within reasonable time frames. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills are required.
WORKING CONDITIONSOccasional overtime may be required. Some travel to district offices is required. Some overnight travel is required.
