Position Summary
The Residential Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of individualized service plans, supervising residential staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services to individuals in residential settings.

- Treat individuals and coworkers with dignity and respect at all times

- Promote an environment that is free from abuse and neglect, respecting the rights and dignity of individuals and coworkers
- Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, evaluation, and discipline of residential staff
- Supervise and support assigned direct support staff in the provision of direct care services
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide group and individual training
- Deliver on-the-job training to new staff and monitor assigned duties
- Follow up on employee participation in mandatory trainings and meetings
- Review employee and consumer purchases; implement corrective actions as needed
- Review and address issues with fire and disaster drills
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled visits to assigned homes
- Minimum one weekend visit per residence
- One weekday visit during 1st or 2nd shift per residence
- One 3rd shift per quarter per residence
- Coordinate development and revisions of functional assessments and program plans
- Monitor consumer progress and program implementation monthly
- Prepare documentation for team meetings and treatment plan updates
- Coordinate consumer care with relevant professionals (e.g., case managers, nurses, psychiatrists)
- Provide shift coverage when necessary
- Support consumers in daily living skills, community engagement, and personal property inventories
- Ensure Medicaid eligibility is maintained
- Maintain accurate progress notes and records in compliance with HIPAA
- Review data trends in personnel and consumer systems
- Obtain informed consents for restrictive and non-medical interventions
- Prepare documentation for psychotropic drug review and human rights committee
- Review and follow up on general event reports
- Attend and contribute to annual and departmental planning meetings
- Carry agency phone at all times for emergency/after-hours response
- Assess and respond to critical behavioral incidents; coordinate with nursing for medication review when necessary
- Provide or coordinate behavior support training
- Interact regularly with individuals and families to assess satisfaction and share updates
- Submit weekly schedule and agency purchase orders to the residential director
- Assist with individual admissions, including reviewing packets with consumers and families
- Attend departmental meetings, committees, and agency-declared emergencies or crises
- Report maintenance or repair needs
- Complete ongoing training as required
- Perform related duties as assigned to support the agency's mission and operational needs
- Lift up to 50 lbs; assist with adult transfers as needed
- Frequent movement: standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and lifting
- Work indoors and outdoors in varied environments
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and physical aggression
- Use of safety equipment (gloves, eye/ear protection) may be required
- Must operate agency vehicles safely, including at night
- Proficient written and verbal English communication
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn agency software
- Strong interpersonal and judgment skills
- Ability to follow direction and work both independently and collaboratively
- Time management and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred)
- Valid South Carolina Driver’s License and acceptable driving record required
This position is classified as Essential. In the event of emergencies, natural disasters, or other urgent circumstances, the coordinator may be required to report to work to ensure the health and safety of individuals receiving services.
