Your role

Preparing an array of accounting/tax engagements such as personal tax returns, corporate tax returns, compilation, review and audit engagements including detailed client financial statement disclosures.
Sitting in on client meetings, communicating regularly with clients to learn their business needs and building those strong client relationships
Assisting with training for new students
Managing various deadlines throughout the year
Provide support, coaching and development of mentees.
Preparation and presentation of technical sessions to firm staff
Understanding the impact of engagement financials including time budgets, work in process variances and billings
Staying up to date on relevant accounting standards and changing tax laws
Completing various CRA filings for clients as needed including HST and responding to CRA calls.

What you bring to the table

Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Designation, is a student in the CPA program or has relevant work experience in a firm environment
2-5 years of experience in the accounting field (experience with review and audit engagements would be considered an asset)
High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Experience with Caseware and Tax Prep softwares considered an asset
Excellent attention to detail and project management skills
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and demonstrated ability to work with other’s effectively as part of a team
Understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment and the ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines
