Elevate resident care as an Infection Prevention and Control Specialist at Extendicare Van Daele in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Drive effective IPAC practices and educate teams on safety protocols.
This full-time role reports to the Executive Director, overseeing the IPAC Program. You'll lead a dedicated team and implement person-centered care to ensure compliance and safety for residents and staff. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential in this critical position involving infection surveillance and education across various disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee Home’s IPAC program
• Lead IPAC education for staff and residents
• Audit and analyze infection practices monthly
• Conduct infectious disease surveillance regularly
• Participate in Outbreak Team meetings
Requirements:
• Minimum of one year nursing experience
• Certification in infection control by 2025
• Strong managerial experience in health care
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
