Location: City of Moncton
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team in Moncton, NB. This is a 15-month contract, on-site position
, reporting directly to the HR Manager, and provides day‑to‑day support across all core HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, immigration support, and internal communications. The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting managers and employees, ensuring smooth HR operations, and contributing to a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace culture.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate job postings, resume screening, interviews, and selection processes
- Manage onboarding activities, including orientations, documentation, and system access
- Support workforce planning initiatives, career events, and student plant tours
- Act as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns
- Support managers with performance management, attendance, and conflict resolution
- Assist foreign workers with immigration‑related processes
- Conduct exit interviews and track turnover metrics
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
- Act as a super user (SU) of the HR system
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Support audits, reporting, and documentation needs
- Support the implementation and tracking of training and development programs
- Monitor training completion and effectiveness
- Assist with performance review cycles, goal tracking, and feedback processes
- Support talent development and succession planning initiatives
- Participate in HR initiatives such as employee engagement, wellness, diversity & inclusion, and policy updates
- Maintain and update internal communications (digital monitors, noticeboards, communication plans) to ensure timely and consistent messaging
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a multi‑functional HR role
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR best practices, and HR systems (HRIS, ATS)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Time management and prioritization
- Adaptability and teamwork
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong customer service orientation
