This casual position offers 2 days a week for a 4-month term starting in August 2026. As an Educational Interpreter, you will skillfully interpret both American Sign Language and English, ensuring communication is accessible in the classroom. Collaborating with teachers and support staff, you will navigate cultural nuances while empowering learners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate ASL and English interpretations
• Support learners in a hearing classroom environment
• Act as a cultural mediator for diverse students
• Collaborate with teaching staff and support specialists
• Ensure a responsive, inclusive educational experience
Requirements:
• Graduate of an Interpreter Training Program
• Minimum 3 years of interpreting experience
• Fluency in ASL and English (written and spoken)
• Knowledge of child and language development
• Strong interpersonal skills with diverse learners
