Our client, a prominent player in the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join their high-performance operations team. The Mandate
This is a pivotal role designed for a procurement professional who excels in a fast-paced setting. You will be tasked with more than just purchasing; you will act as a subject-matter expert for assigned product lines, leveraging market intelligence to safeguard supply continuity and optimize the total cost of ownership.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Category Leadership: Own the development of annual budgets and lead high-impact procurement projects. You will be responsible for key KPIs and ensuring proactive risk mitigation across the supply chain.Market Analysis & Decision Support: Monitor global commodity trends and economic shifts. You will provide senior leadership with scenario-based recommendations and execute technical RFPs.Supplier Partnership Management: Cultivate and manage robust relationships with both domestic and international vendors. You will lead negotiations and utilize KPI-driven metrics to evaluate performance.Process Innovation: Act as a catalyst for continuous improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best-in-class sourcing methodologies.Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this search, candidates must possess a blend of analytical rigor and negotiation prowess.
Professional
Experience:
5+ years of progressive procurement or sourcing experience, ideally within a manufacturing context.Education & Credentials: A degree or diploma in Business Administration. Possession of (or active progress toward) an SCMP designation is highly valued.Technical Literacy: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience navigating ERP systems (Oracle experience is a distinct advantage).Key
Competencies:
Strong critical thinking skills, excellent stakeholder management, and a proven track record in cost analysis.Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills;
bilingualism is considered a strong asset.Additional Details
Eligibility: Candidates must be legally eligible to work in New Brunswick. (Our client is not offering sponsorship at this time).Travel: Occasional travel will be required to meet with suppliers and stakeholders.
